Local Clergy To Exchange Pulpits For Unity Week

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity concludes Sunday January 23 with seven churches in Grant County exchanging pulpits across six area churches to show unity. Speakers include Rev Ford Hutton at the Presbyterian Church and Rev Thomas Chesterman at the Methodist Church, with other clergy from Episcopal and Bayard churches. Additional events feature a variety show at Fine Arts Auditorium, a film at the Baptist Student Union titled Dangers of the Occult, and a Bob Morley gospel concert at New Mexico University.

Monday features spaghetti with meatballs cabbage apple salad buttered corn tails fruit cocktail and milk. Tuesday offers fried chicken mashed potatoes creamed peas jello rolls with butter and milk. The Silver City Food Co-op will sponsor a 6 p.m. screening of Worse Without Cancer after its Sunday meeting at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Silver City. The film promotes the laetrile treatment for cancer. All interested persons are invited.
