Silver High announces All-State selections across band and chorus including Lorraine Martins first soprano Sherry Lane second alto Laura Messer and Sara Sprecher. The Silver City group will attend the New Mexican AML Stays Miss Festival Jan 4 with multiple performing members listed across chorus and band. Two concerts are planned at UNM campus Popery Hall on Jan 29 and Jan 30 with return Jan 30.

Former President Johnson Hospitalized With Viral Pneumonia
Lyndon B. Johnson, age 62, was flown to Brooke Army General Hospital after a week of severe cold symptoms. Officials said his attending physician does not anticipate a long hospitalization and found no cardiac problems. The friend described hoarseness and general misery but noted the illness is not expected to be serious.
