Elida Youth Dies In One Car Accident
An 18 year old Elida youth died after a one car crash on U S 70 near Elida following a dispute with the driver. Frank Esquibel Jr. died in hospital about 12 hours after the crash. Pete Contreras 33 said the youth grabbed the wheel causing the vehicle to overturn after skidding 162 feet. A 13 year old Roswell passenger Alex Ojas and another rider suffered minor injuries.

Sheriff’s Deputy Carl Rice said the incident occurred when Bob Bradbury and Grant Conny were removing a .22 rifle from a closet around 3:15 p.m. Bradbury was struck in the shoulder and transported to Silver City for treatment. His condition was reported as good.
