Immunization Regulations For School Children

Regulations from the Health and Social Services Department govern school immunizations in New Mexico. Enrollment requires evidence of vaccination or initiation of the process with a nine month window to complete. Exemptions exist for medical or religious grounds with renewals possible, and disenrollment follows if requirements are not met. The rules were approved by the State Board of Education on June 24, 1974 and supersede conflicting regulations.

Guide Dog And Master Complete Training

William J. Olander of Tyrone has completed guide dog training at the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind in Smithtown Long Island. He received a scientifically trained dog named Frolic and will use the service to participate actively in community life with follow up services and basic obedience training.

Poachers Face Fines Over Elk Kill On Mescalero Reservation

ALAMOGORDO NM Three men received civil penalties totaling over 2000 for illegally killing five elk on the Mescalero Reservation last fall. One defendant faces an additional 1700. Officer Roy Owen of the NM Game and Fish said the probe spanned months with ongoing investigations and potential more arrests. Investigators Owen Richard Earnhart aided by LS Pésh and Wildlife Service agent Tam Kalie.

Federal extended unemployment benefits end in New Mexico
