The father of Lt. Gov. Bob Ferguson remained hospitalized at St. Marys Hospital in Roswell after not progressing as expected a month post surgery that included heart procedures and the amputation of his right leg following a heart attack. He was admitted Friday after earlier reports said he was doing fine.
Monday no school. Tuesday Hamburgers on bun with lettuce mustard pickles French fries and apple sauce. Wednesday Bean tacos with chopped lettuce Spanish rice and milk. Thursday Meat loaf with mashed potatoes green beans buttered corn and brownies plus milk. Friday returns to regular meals.
A school lunch menu shows a range of dishes including Green Enchilada Beans, spaghetti with meat sauce, tossed salads, buttered corn bread, cinnamon rolls, milk, and fruit cups. The spread includes hot dogs, beans, cabbage salad, rice Krispies, peanut butter bars, and multiple desserts, with beverages listed as quarter and half pints.
Albuquerque Public School officials probe food poisoning affecting 15 Rio Grande High School junior ROTC members after a five day field trip. A group of 89 ROTC members returned from Jemez Springs area. five fell ill first, followed by ten more at the high school. Authorities have not yet determined a cause.
New Mexico Legislative Council to meet May 1 in Santa Fe to fill interim committee rosters. The 13 member body includes Senate and House leaders and appointees. New members include Sen. Trujillo and Sen. McAdams. House appointees include McBride Pattison and Hudon. LFC features Dunn and Trujillo with O'Donnell Lopez as officers. Also offers odd cooking tip about fish fillets in a 600 degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes.
Dr. W. H. Howard, past State BSY Director for Texas and current consultant for National Student Ministries, will preach at 11 A.M. Sunday morning at 6th Street Baptist Church. The public is invited.
