Boston reports ongoing racial tensions after a large march drew tens of thousands into the downtown area. City officials say protests highlight persistent prejudice, with community leaders urging dialogue and police presence to ensure safety.
In New Mexico the only female officers in the National Guard Louella Ochoa and Teresa Sedillo will train at Fort McClellan Alabama this summer. Major Vasquez notes 44 women in the New Mexico Guard, leadership and fitness programs will mirror the men’s, with Ochoa a health secretary and Sedillo a Texas law student.
Carson Washington AP reports a school district imposes a skateboard license system to curb injuries.
