University students at Western New Mexico University elect Lyon Kohlman of Albuquerque as student chairman for 1975 16 with Sue Ant Schneider of Hurley as secretary and Celia Lundi of Santa Fe as program planning head. Pat Cleaveland, WNMU home economics instructor, installs the officers at the New Mexico Home Economics Association convention in Santa Fe. Kohlman will represent New Mexico at the national convention in San Antonio, Texas.

Gov Apodaca moves toward creating a powerful seven member energy resources board and an energy resources administrator. The board will govern oil gas coal uranium and geothermal energy, maintain state fuel and power records, set prices and taxes, and shape a statewide siting production and refining plan. The OCC becomes part of the new structure with a redefined director and state geologist roles.

Annual Horse Clinic Set Saturday
The Grant County Horse Clinic will be held at the Sheriff's Posse Arena from 9 a.m. to about 2 p.m. Saturday. Wally Cox of New Mexico State University and two others will assist people with horses in the morning and help with barrel racing and pole bending issues in the afternoon. The program targets all interested riders.
