Silver District Sponsors Pilot Head Start This Summer
The Silver Consolidated School System through the Office of Economic Opportunity will run an eight week Head Start program for five and six year olds at North Silver Elementary School. Mrs Lilian Parra will lead classes in four rooms with 15 to 18 students each from June 6 to July 29, 8 30 am to 5 30 pm, five days weekly with transportation provided at no cost to eligible five and six year olds entering school in fall 1966. Enroll by May 1 with Superintendent John Gaines or Mrs Parra. positions for four teachers an aide four parent aides and one cafeteria worker are sought for the district pilot program in the Silver School District Number One. The district includes Silver City Arenas Valley Tyrone White Signal and other communities.

Mrs Ryan died suddenly at her Albuquerque residence as Wednesday. Train Robbery Mastermind Is Caught In Britain
James Edward White, 46, sought for nearly three years as a mastermind of the multimillion-dollar Great Train Robbery, was arrested in Kent. He had surfaced near Scotland Yard, then vanished, with others awaiting justice after the Aug 8 1963 robbery. two co defendants remained at large. White had reportedly lived in Ireland and worked in Nice, France, before capture.

New Grid Coach To Speak At WU Athletic Banquet
Tommy Hightower new Mus tang football coach at Western New Mexico University will speak at the annual WNMU athletic banquet at 6 30 p m Monday May 2 in the Student Memorial Center. Banquet honors varsity athletes and trophies will be awarded to outstanding players in each sport for 1965 86. Hightower coach of Los Alamos High School will arrive Friday to prepare for spring football with 45 to 50 athletes reporting May 2 for a two week session under Hightower aided by Joe Palmer and Walter Winkowski.

Viet Nam Wolfhounds Prepare First Major Assault
