San Francisco AP reports the bridge district approved a 67800 dollar study on adding an eight foot high steel barrier to deter suicides at the Golden Gate Bridge. The study, due in 31 days, will assess structural safety and wind tolerance before any construction decision. 477 people are known to have leapt to their deaths from the span.
