Three Bayard Residents Fined in City Magistrate Court
Bayard residents David Nunez 25 Manuel Rivera 29 and Esther Rivera 42 were each fined 50 dollars in Bilver City Magistrate Court after an altercation Sunday on Highway 00 near San Lorenzo. Magistrate John Schall heard the case from complainant Itchard Frampton of Albuquerque. A fourth named, Fred Inigeda of Bayard, was found innocent.

Boy Found After 400-Plus Search in Manzano Mountains
A year-old boy missing since Sunday in the Manzano Mountains was located this morning by searchers. More than 400 persons helped in the effort as investigators prepared to report his condition and the circumstances of his rescue after the boy was taken to a base camp. He is Patrick Sanchez, son of Mr and Mrs Patricio Sanchez of Albuquerque.

Infant Jason Majalea Funeral Held In Hurley Cemetery
The infant son of Mr and Mrs Alfred Majalea of Hurley was buried after a funeral service at 11 am in Hurley Cemetery. Two sisters Chriglas Renee and Melisha Bernay survive the child who vanished during an Easter outing in the Manzanos. State Police and more than 40 searchers did not recover him after a days long, wide search.

Gila National Forest imposes strict camping and travel rules
An order for the Gila National Forest limits motor vehicle travel to maintained roads and bans cross‑country use. Overnight camping is allowed only in developed campgrounds or areas visible from major highways after April 15, 1971.
