Allied forces shell Saigon area base attacked by enemy

Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces shelled four Cambodian positions along a 14 mile corridor near Phnom Penh while US helicopter crews rescued 1st Lt Brian Thacker in Pleiku. Thacker, trapped behind North Vietnamese lines after Fire Base 6 fell, was evacuated in satisfactory condition aided by Cobra gunships and fellow crewmen.

PAVIDGON NAMED ALBUQUERQUE AIR MANAGEMENT ENGINEER

Harry M. Davidson, an air pollution control engineer with the State Department of Health and Social Services, was named Albuquerque's new air management engineer Friday. He will assume the post April 19, replacing Lane Kirkpatrick who resigned last month to take a position with the State of Colorado. The 32nd annual New Mexico Motor Carriers Association convention opens next Thursday in Albuquerque with speakers Hal Tale, president of the Western Highway Institute, Drs Robert A. Kaye of the Bureau of Motor Nett Salary and Alexander Stephens of Gear Hit Was the Var president of the Confederacy.

L E Wilkin son and E L Johnson of Mule Creek NM filed permit GSF 3798 with the State Engineer for a supplemental well in the Gila San Francisco underground basin. The proposal includes irrigation rights from Grant County Cease No 18290, total water not to exceed 28 acre feet per year, with potential protest rights within ten days after last publication. The notice also mentions a Gallup NM chamber seeking 1000 acres near railroad tracks for a prospective industrial project referred to Gallup by the State Department of Development.

The State Engineer lists applications M-2738-S-4 M-2735-3-5 for two supplemental wells to appropriate 2621 125 acre feet per annum of shallow groundwater from the Mimbres Valley Underground Water Basin. Wells M-2735- Bed and M-2738-3-8 would be drilled in specified sections to supplement municipal water supply. Public protest allowed within ten days after final publication.
