Head Start will sponsor a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta on May 1 and 2. The event opens with the Coronation Ball crowning the Cinco de Mayo king and queen on May 1. May 2 features performances by Head Start children, a Mexican costume style show, food drinks and live music for the public. Uganda gained independence at midnight October 9 1962 ending 68 years of British rule.
Region V to hold a citizen hearing at Grant County Courthouse Silver City from 7 30 p m to 10 00 p m on April 7 1976. The event aims to discuss Juvenile Justice problems and needs and guide standards and goals for New Mexico criminal justice planning funded by LEAA. A new Arts and Crafts cooperative held its first meeting last Sunday with discussions and committee assignments to draft by laws and find space. An organizational meeting is planned for Sunday April 11 at 2 p.m. at 1010 Santa Rita Street Silver City inviting all interested residents.
