Land Firms Reach Tentative Agreement With Hardin County
Representatives of land and timber companies met with the Hardin County Board of Equalization after a 13 day delay. They accepted the board’s values at a Kountze meeting and expect a 16 to 17 dollar per acre valuation, with the tax levy and budget to be finalized this week. The board adjourned for judgment pending the new valuations amid concerns of a potential shutdown of county services and treasury strain.
