Croaker Run Underway Along Texas Gulf Coast
The annual croaker migration into the Gulf of Mexico has begun with large catches reported at Rollover Pass and Bolivar Roads jetties. Biologist Lynn Benefield notes ripe eggs in females from creel surveys and says water temperatures must fall for the flounder run to start. Flounder already show up locally, with plum runs anticipated over several weeks as temperatures drop.
