Texas High Court Actions Involving Conspiracy Bribery and Jurisdiction
The high court agreed with an intermediate ruling disbarring an attorney in a conspiracy to bribe former Treasury Secretary John Connally. It set oral arguments in a $230,000 damage suit over a boy’s arm lost in a washing machine accident. The court held no jurisdiction to overturn an intermediate ruling allowing a Texas woman to seek higher child support from an ex husband now living out of state. It ordered transfer of a strangulation case from juvenile to district court. It will hear whether a Victor woman was falsely imprisoned by a Beaumont department store. It agreed to hear arguments for a disabled Dallas veteran claiming a landlord failed to provide a habitable apartment.
