Flathead Catfish Spawn In Hatchery
Parks and Wildlife Department reports Pedro and Rosita the Medina Hatchery pair have spawned for the seventh year. Hatchery breeding is experimental with few fish likely for stocking outside controlled tests. Biologists note flatheads require live food, hindering production but see potential as predator stock for ponds if scalable.

Fullerton Reunion Set For June 7 In Vernon Parish
Hundreds of former Fullerton residents from Old Fullerton Rustville and Cravens towns plan reunions at Fullerton Recreation Park on Sunday June 7. The reunion group formed in 1960 and drew about a thousand attendees in the first event and nearly as many the second year. The park near Leesville and DeRidder Louisiana has been improved by the U S Forest Service with paved roads potable water restrooms and fishing areas. The Fullerton saw mill once cost 3 5 million dollars and was the largest yellow pine mill west of the Mississippi it closed in 1927. The organizers invite attendees to bring old 1920s photos to share memories and everyone brings a picnic lunch.
