Policemen Attend Beaumont Crime Lab Seminar
Lt Mickey Fulgham and Detective Billy Davenport of the Silsbee Police Department recently attended a three hour seminar in Beaumont on trace metal detection. The program, conducted by the Regional Crime Lab on April 29, taught officers how to administer the tests for trace metal detection. The Silsbee Police Department has the equipment for the tests, according to Fulgham. Information compiled with the tests will be sent to the crime lab for analysis.

Community Workshops Conclude May 12 in Hardin County
Forty two residents attended the April 25 kickoff of the Hardin County Community Development Workshops led by the Hardin County Community Resource Development Committee and the Texas Agricultural Extension Service. The program teaches effective individual participation, listening, thinking, and speaking for productive committee work with sessions on May 9 and May 12 at 6 30 p m in the county courthouse. Participants will learn how to identify community needs, involve key people, and conduct projects with no charge to attendees.

Sheriff Posse Rodeo Heads to Orange Friday and Saturday
The Orange County Sheriff Posse hosts its seventh annual championship rodeo on May 6 and 7 at 8 p.m. in the posse arena on FM 105. Bucking entries close at 7:30 p.m. each night.
