Funeral services were held for Aubry B. Coleman 74 of Jasper at First Methodist Church in Cushing. A former Silsbee High School principal and 35 year Jasper teacher, he died after a car collapse. He was a World War I veteran and Mason, survived by two Cush ing sisters.
Dr. H. E. Munden of Silsbee was named a District 9 director of the Texas State Chiropractic Association at its annual meeting in Woodville held last weekend.

The family of Joe Harper of Kirbyville gathered at the home of Mr and Mrs Don Hawthorn for a get together as he nears 91. Out of town guests included A J Harper and grandchildren from Friendswood Pete Tortoris from Town Bluff Leroy Jordan from Vinton La D G Bishop and grandchild and Arthur Cudd Jr of San Antonio Jim Harper and daughter from Kirbyville and Leonard Burns family from Joaquin.
Silsbee Public Schools publish weekly menus for May 6 to 10. Monday offers steaks with mashed potatoes and peas. Tuesday serves chicken salad with shoestring potatoes and peaches. Wednesday features sliced roast beef with rice and gravy and green beans. Thursday includes barbecue on buns with baked beans and fruit cobbler. Friday provides fried fish with buttered carrots and corn, plus cornbread and fruited jello.
