Bees Boost Seed Production of White Clover
Entomologist Dr. Nevin Weaver of the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station reports bees greatly aid white clover seed production, yielding seven times more seed in caged bee plots at Beau mont Rice Pasture Experiment Station. Uncaged clover produced slightly more seed than bee-caged plots, likely due to plant vigor and self fertile plants. Weaver advises field checks for adequate pollinators by inspecting blossom freshness and bloom patterns to gauge bee activity.
