Silsbee Camp Fire Girls plan a 58th anniversary program Monday March 17 at 7 30 p m in the Junior High School auditorium. Blue Birds Camp Fire Girls Junior High Camp Fire Girls and Horizon Club will perform songs and skits showing growth in Camp Fire. Twenty one groups will take part and refreshments will follow in the cafeteria.

Hides sold nets Texas Parks and Wildlife $903.36. finished value estimated at $6,000. Texas marshes yield over one million yearly in muskrat fur.
The Spurger Brush Riders sponsor the seventh annual Tri County Dogwood Trek from Spurger to Woodville during Tyler County Western Week. The one and a half day event runs March 28 to 29 with camping in Chapman's Ranch, a western barn dance, and a Woodville parade. Officials include Trail Boss James Chapman and others.
The FBI Uniform Crime Reports show total crime rising 17 percent in 1968 from 1967. Violent crimes increased 19 percent led by robbery and murders, while property crimes rose 17 percent. Urban areas and Northeastern states saw notable gains alongside rising juvenile arrests.

Cleveland couple Mrs. Edward G Wheeler announces the engagement and upcoming marriage of Dorothy Jean Wheeler to Lt. Donald G. Thomas of the US Army. Dorothy, a Cleveland High School graduate, works for John Hancock Insurance in Houston. Thomas, a Silsbee High School graduate, is stationed at Fort Rucker Alabama. Wedding set for March 22 at 7 30 p m at the First Methodist Church in Cleveland.
Rev J W Joiner Sr pastor of Bethany Baptist La will conduct revival at First Baptist Church Saratoga from March 17 to 23 with services at 11 am and 7 30 pm. Choir director Lynn Ester of Goo Shepherd Baptist Church will oversee music. Joiner formerly led Good Shepherd in Silsbee. Rev Alvin Strother pastors nearby church.
