District Court Sets Trial Dates For Civil And Criminal Dockets
The 38th District Court in Keuntze opens April 1 at 9 a.m. for civil cases through May 6, then criminal felonies begin May 6 and capital cases May 1. Judge H. A. Coe warns many long-pending cases will be dismissed for want of prosecution without written trial requests. Docket lists include numerous civil actions across five weeks and a line of criminal cases, with open weeks reserved for re settings.

Funeral services for Frances Sumrall 69 were held at the Pentecostal Church in Votaw with burial in Votaw Cemetery. She died Friday night in M D Anderson Hospital Houston after a long illness. Survivors include husband Jim Sumrall, four sons Edward Randolph Clyde Johnnie, seven daughters and 25 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Cecil Collins Ben Kirkland Lester Moye W E Johnston Kenneth Collins and Mr Vickers.
