Wildlife Damage Halts Ant Poisoning in Southeast Texas
A temporary halt to fire ant control in Southeast Texas and Hardin county was ordered after officials cited wildlife damage from aerial insecticides. Biologist Dan Lay reported near Sour Lake that wildlife was practically wiped out in two field tests, including armadillos and nutria, as the poisons killed many species.
