State Parks Face Cleanliness Challenge at Inks Lake
Bill Dickinson, superintendent at Inks Lake State Park near Burnet, reports improved park manners but five percent of visitors still litter. He notes campers are neater, and staff retrieve trash from six miles of park roads, including metal with magnets and digging out glass amid cacti and rattlesnakes. The park sees rising visitation as fishing yields big catches, including a 912 pound black bass by a man and an 8 1/2 pound bass by a woman.
