The Bee learns from Carroll Schubert in Senator Bentsen's office that no immediate action will occur on U S Marshal appointments, with likely action within 30 days. If Paine secures the marshal job, Hardin County would appoint a sheriff to serve the unexpired term, leading to a 1980 election scenario and several local names considered for the job.
