Beau mont High School senior Alvin Joe Caywood earned All-District honors and signed a letter of intent to major in physical education with a four year scholarship to the University of Texas. Caywood, 5 11 and 190 pounds, played tackle for French and is a candidate for constable. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Alvin Caywood of Beaumont and the grandson of Mr and Mrs G W Caywood of Loeb.

Peace Corps Tests For Beaumont March Fourteenth
Peace Corps announced a nationwide placement test slated for Saturday March 14 at about 825 locations. In Beaumont the test will be at Noon 323, Federal Building, starting 8:30 a.m. local time. Over 5,000 qualified volunteers are needed for summer training. Main needs include agriculture, health, engineering, education, and math and science teaching, with several hundred other categories for assignments in four countries.
