County Tax Controversy Prompts Monday Meeting
Hardin County taxpayers and officials clash over 25 and 30 percent assessment levels for 1968. Commissioner Burch pushes a resolution to standardize at 25 percent, citing equity with local and industrial properties, while Judge Lack warns against bias and notes prior appraisals favored a 30 percent uniform level. Litigation with Atlantic Richfield looms as trial nears.
