Direct Dialing Rates Cut in Texas Offer Savings
The Price Commission authorized adjustments to long distance rates in Texas effective Dec 29. Southwestern Bell reports lower charges for most direct distance dialing and higher rates for operator assisted calls within Texas. New DDD rules add a night rate, expanded operator assisted pricing, and holidays Labor Day and July 4 reductions. The plan includes DDD in non equipped cities and excludes collect, credit card, third number, and coin phone calls.
