County project bids revised as Miller withdraws
Miller withdrew from the bidding on a $300,000 county project funded 90 percent by the federal government after a rise in material costs pushed bids $103,600 above the figure. Hawthorne said the project remains on track and a new proposal would come to the next commissioners meeting. The board delayed interim justice of the peace selection after Kyle Reeves resignation. Rex Moore urged postponement. Lorraine Newsom was proposed but failed 3-1. They refused to cover a transportation cost from California, deeming it illegal.
