Final Rites Held Wednesday For Mrs Louise Whitmire
Funeral services for 56 year old Mrs Louise Whitmire of Evadale were held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Farmer Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Richard Worley officiating. She died Monday in Silsbee Doctors Hospital. A Loganville native, she lived in Evadale 37 years. Survivors include husband Herman Whitmire of Evadale, son W. J. Whitmire of Silsbee, daughter Hazel Wood of Evadale, three brothers Edgar Nesbitt San Antonio George Nesbitt Port Acres Jim Nesbitt Clute, two sisters Mrs Molly Christman Huntington and Miss Lottie Bell Nesbitt Houston. Pallbearers were Ben Bruce Horace Whitmire R C Whitmire Marvin Collins John B Burrell and Billy Jack Copeland.

Youth Receives Two Years Probation for Burglary
In Jefferson County area courts Marshall Derrick a Beaumont 17 year old pled guilty to burglary with intent to commit theft tied to a Silsbee hotel room. Austin Overland 53 of Silsbee pled guilty to driving while intoxicated first offense and received 125 dollar fine court costs and nine days in jail with two years probation.

Mrs Merle Daniel Davis 39 of New Orleans died suddenly at 8 30 am Sunday Dec 17 at her home. Funeral services were held at Central Baptist Church Kirbyville with Rev Percy Bailey officiating. Burial was in Davis Cemetery Beulah Springs near Kirbyville. Silsbee Volunteer Firemen responded to a lumber pile fire near the US 96 overpass at 9:10 p.m. and then to a Boler Street home to locate a gas leak in the kitchen at 9:35 p.m. Fire Chief Russell Busby reported both incidents were contained within the 35 minute span.
