Veteran Engineman Albert Oelschleger Retires After 49 Years
Albert Oelschleger, longtime San Antonio Fe engineman, retired from active railroad service on November 5 after 49 years. He began in Somerville in 1909, rose to engineer in 1926, and worked out of Silsbee Beaum on passenger and freight runs before retirement. He plans to live in Brenham with wife Mrs. Oelschleger.

Tuesday Services Are Held In Port Arthur For Mrs Martha Brown
Funeral services were held for 68 year old Mrs Martha Brown who died suddenly at her home near Fletcher at 1 am Sunday. She was a native of New Iberia Louisiana and had lived in Port Arthur since 1947. Survived by husband William Brown three sons six daughters two sisters twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Port Arthur.

Marine Pvt. Don R. Cleveland of Silsbee participates in Operation Phiblank a three phase exercise in the Philippine Islands. The 3rd Marine Division 3rd Regiment with 12th Regiment units uses helicopter borne troops in a vertical enveloping action.
