City Council Moves to Replace Delinquent Tax Attorney
Pasadena attorney Dexter Joyner, hired by Silsbee nearly three years ago to pursue delinquent property taxes, faces dismissal after council members learned he failed to obtain docket settings on 15 court cases. The council may hire a new delinquent tax attorney or have city attorney Ratliff handle filings. Joyner has received about 2500 dollars as a 150 percent payment of taxes collected, though no tax suits have reached docket. Joyner was also terminated as delinquent tax attorney for Hardin County and in Kountze ISD amid filing and communication issues.
