Former Kountze Librarian Reported Doing Well After Release
Former Kountze School District librarian Mrs. Aline House, held six days as a hostage by convicts at Huntsville State Prison, was admitted to Huntsville Memorial Hospital and later reported “doing very well.” Hospital officials said her vital signs stabilized and she might have collapsed due to a chronic blood pressure issue rather than a heart attack. The 1963 to 1971 Kountze librarian was released by convict leader Fred Gomez Carrasco after falling ill during the siege. The article notes two other hostages were released and a third escaped, with ongoing questions about hospitalization updates. Meanwhile, Texas wedding plans are noted for Celeste Leonard’s August marriage to Steve Hotard in Morgan City, Louisiana.
