Silsbee to allow mobile homes in western area
Silsbee City Council on first reading approved a zoning change to permit mobile homes in about 75 acres in the western part of town from 21st Street to the city limits bordered by Avenue J and Highway 327, excluding Prince Hall Villa and light industry zones. Public input was sparse with one woman voicing concern on play space, later reassured by setback rules. If approved on second reading, the ordinance would broaden housing options for buyers unable to afford traditional homes.
