Shelving tips for books and adjustable setup
Most shelves should be eight inches deep with occasional twelve inch shelves for oversize volumes. Place wider shelves at the bottom for aesthetics. Use movable supports to adjust spacing or fixed gaps of ten inches to fit most books with finger room. Ready made shelving from stores or lumber yards offers widths and finishes, though they can be thick and costly.
