Senate backs Dies industry bonds measure in Texas
Texas Senate approved S. J. R. 13 by Senator Martin Dies by a 22 to 9 vote to amend the state constitution to authorize state bonds to attract and enlarge industry. Dies argues the plan mirrors successful programs in other states and uses tax free interest to offer low borrowing costs. The measure moves to the House for action.
