The Board of Education sold the 225000 school bond issue to Mercantile Trust Company of St. Louis. Low bids were 2.25 percent on 150000 maturing 1954-58 and 2.375 percent on 75000 maturing 1969-72. Average rate 2.308. Net interest for 20 years 64299.43. This bid was 6000 less on net interest cost than the second lowest bid. Eight bids from 14 bond companies participated.
