Change Proposed for Extension of Limits
At a Sikeston city council special meeting last Friday citizens favored a larger extension of city limits eastward beyond the airport and rights of way. The council voted to repeal the former election order and prepare for a new election on the extension, with a committee including Mayor Carroll and aldermen to guide the measure.

Twenty local women and two from Cape Girardeau met at the public library on Monday afternoon to organize a Garden Club. Cape Girardeau participants included Mrs Ernest Walker and Mrs G C Walther, secretary for the Garden Clubs of Missouri. Mrs J Ernest Harper was temporary chairman and Mrs Jane Gillespie secretary. Ground work was planned and the gravelers will meet again next Monday to complete plans.

Fly-In Breakfast at Airport Hosts Sunday
Visitors are expected Sunday May 22 as the Sikes ton Aero Club hosts a fly-in breakfast at the airport. Planes may arrive as early as 7 30 a m with registration then breakfast at Sikeston Country Club. Prizes include oldest pilot age first woman pilot and greatest distance. Transportation to church and a city tour are arranged.

Jail Sentences and Fines Yesterday in Magistrate Court
Three men received jail terms and fines in Judge M E Montgomery's Magistrate court. Robert L. Cummins of St Louis pleaded guilty to careless and reckless driving while intoxicated, fined 25 dollars and given a 60 day sentence. Thomas Milton of Bell City was fined 10 dollars and given 60 days for malicious destruction of property after firing a shotgun at a car. Lloyd Huffman, a truck driver, was fined 25 dollars and given 60 days and paroled to A B Zigenhorn for careless driving while drinking. Jackie Richards of Sikeston waived preliminary hearing on a worthless check charge and awaits circuit court trial.

Girl Scout Club Plans Day Camp and Parade
The Girl Scout Club met at the Methodist church Tuesday evening to discuss a July 25 to 29 Day Camp. Death of Progressive Farmer Follows Surgery
James M. Klein, a renowned Southeast Missouri farmer and livestock feeder, died Monday night after emergency surgery for peritonitis. Born December 13, 1868, in New Madrid County, he spent his life in New Madrid and Scott counties. Surviving are his wife Margaret, son Murray G. Klein, daughter Camille Klein, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at his home with interment in Sikeston Mausoleum.

Ninety Seniors to Receive Diplomas At Commencement
Sikeston high school will honor ninety seniors Monday night with diplomas. W A Chism, completing twelve years without an absence, tops the class, while his brother Barney Eugene Chism has eleven years of perfect attendance. Both are sons of Mrs. B H Chism of McMullin. Father died in a traffic accident two and a half years ago. Both brothers have shared half day classwork in a diversified occupations program while commuting daily from McMullin. W A works at McKnight Keaton Grocery and Barney at Dace Auto Paint and Body Works.

Grant City unveils a new service station and cafe five miles north of Sikeston on Highway 61. The brick building, replacing the previous site destroyed five years ago, is owned by Roy Smith of Malden and leased to Simpson Oil Co. Bob Rowe runs the station with Rex Lambert managing the cafe. Simpson Oil Co products and Dayton tires are sold. the ultra modern cafe serves steak dinners to sandwiches with ample space for family meals.
