The Love That Saves will be the morning sermon topic at the Baptist church Sunday starting at 10 45 Rev E W Milner pastor will preach the evening sermon on The Three Fold Hope of the Christian Sunday school under Wm Hayden supervisor and Baptist Training Union meet at the usual hour The Royal Service program of the Woman's Missionary Union was held this afternoon with Mrs J F Harrison directing.

Enworth League gathers at 6 50 led by Youth Crusade Squadron from Scott County Young People's Union. Board of stewards meets Monday night at 7 50. Co-Workers Society meets Tuesday at Mrs E J Keith home with Mrs Roy V Elise presiding.
Rev D D Ells, pastor of the Presbyterian church, fresh from the General Assembly in Montreal, will return home Sunday. At 9 a.m. he will report on the Montreal assembly at morning worship, and at 8 p.m. he will deliver a sermon titled Prospects for Union Among Presbyterians. Mrs Ellis and baby, who joined him and visited relatives in Alabama and Georgia, will accompany him back home.
The Daily Vacation Bible School at the Church of the Nazarene has closed for improvements. Workers sand and polish the main auditorium floor this week and pews will be installed soon. Pastor Rev C F Transue notes fundraising for the pews with about 3100 on hand of the $1500 needed.
There will be no services at Concordia Lutheran church in Sikeston on June 11 due to the Lutheran Conference in St Louis. On June 18 Re Martin Schaefer of St Louis will preach at 9 o clock. Rev Martin L Cook, pastor, has been called for CCC camp duty with location to be assigned soon.
Commencement exercises are set for 7 50 p m Friday at the Baptist church for Daily Vacation Bible School pupils conducted over the past two weeks. Director Mrs E W Milliner led a faculty including Mes friends and Miss students with Rev E W Milner assisting. Over 150 children were enrolled. The Friday program features flag salutes Bible readings readings by Katherine Kindred and Carlos Upshaw Dorothy Ann Ashley Bible story Ruth Tidwell Bible quiz and dramas by Philip Sadler Jr Lews Gene Hayden and Louise Skelton. Russell Wilson will tell Pauls second missionary journey. Mary Louise Jones will present a Biblical character study.
Southern recounts the Corinth church split as factions form around Paul Apollos and Cephas, with Jews and Gentiles quarreling over leadership. He cites Apollos and Paul as co-workers and notes that God gives growth, while factions distort faith.
In church life many preachers have preached yet the church endures beyond any one pastor. Paul says God alone makes the seed grow. A Mission Study Institute by the Charleston Baptist Association will be held at Sikeston Baptist Church on Tuesday June 13. Mrs Scott of Chaffee chairs the study with local assistance from Mrs E W Minner. A covered dish luncheon is planned at noon in the church basement.
The annual Vacation Bible School will open Monday morning June 12 at the Presbyterian church, announced by Rev Elis.
Stheston members of the Past Matrons Club of the Easter Star chapters of the 50th District attended a monthly luncheon Monday at the Benton Methodist church. Mesdames F Mount Steve Humphrey I H Dunaway J A Mccabee Nellie Bugg H E Dudley J Huf stedler and Muss Lucille Mount were present. Mrs O Spencer of Benton, president, presided.
