Lon Swanner 76 of 231 Dorothy Street died of a heart ailment at home after a long city service career. A former city water and sewer commissioner born November 9, 1875 in Johnson County Illinois, he lived in Sikeston 55 years and retired a year ago from city work. He advised on water and sewer layouts, was Methodist, Kiwanis honorary, and leaves wife Ocie, stepson Fire Chief L Tongate, a niece, a grandson, and two FrisSell children. Funeral 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Taylor Funeral Home with Rev M G Joyce. Burial City Cemetery.

Noah Wagner 66 of Charleston died at St Marys Hospital Care Tuesday after more than five months illness. Born January 6 1886 in Ballard County Kentucky he was a retired farmer. Survived by five sons Aubrey Charles Melvin all of Charleston Ernest of East Alton Illinois Vernon of Rock Island Illinois one brother Harrison of Morehouse and four grandchildren. Services were held at Nunnelee Funeral Home Wednesday. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
