William John Kraft 73, Benton resident, died Tuesday night at Hill Top Nursing Home in Cape Girardeau. His body rests at Welsh Funeral Home Sikeston, with funeral at Benton Methodist Church Thursday at 2 PM conducted by Rev. Ernest Punch. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery near Commerce. Survived by sister Mrs. Glen Taylor Bertrand and brother Louis Kraft Waterloo, along with several nephews and nieces.

Benton Youth Killed in Car Crash Near Poplar Bluff
Chester H Frobase 21 of Benton was killed 10 miles west of Poplar Bluff on Highway 69 at 5 a m Wednesday. His companion Pfc Kenneth C Roll 19 of Belle Plaine Kansas was also killed. Charles W Miller IT stationed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds Md was injured and taken to Veterans hospital Poplar Bluff in serious condition. Buddy Frobase a Benton High School graduate 1952 and Army private first class stationed at Fort Silk Oklahoma would have been discharged next June. He is survived by his parents and a brother paratrooper Thomas Frobase at Fort Campbell Ky. Funeral details not announced.

Owners must obtain new truck license plates as old ones expire December 31. A veteran of World War I, Pess of Charleston died Tuesday at Veterans Hospital Poplar Bluff aged 159 years born April 26 1896 in Litesville Missouri He served with distinction earning the Distinguished Service Cross the Army Medal of Valor and the Purple Heart He worked as an engineer for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and was an longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston Surviving are his wife two daughters a brother two sisters and one grandchild
