Proclamation setting New Mexico election for November 1912

Governor William C. McDonald orders a statewide election on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November 1912 to elect three presidential electors and one at large representative, plus a vote on a state highway bond issue and an amendment to section 5 Article XXL. The proclamation specifies ballot wording, voting qualifications, and returns to the secretary of state, with Antonio Lucero attesting.

15 Mexicans Shot in Lower California Murder

Chicago reports the murder of Joseph E. Bickerdyke once wealthy resident, killed June 19 at San Andres, Lower California by guide Reese and companions who looted his camp. Soldiers pursued, Reese and fourteen others were shot. Bickerdyke had left Tolina, Mexico, for a prospecting tour with motive suspected robbery. The wife Mia Sarah L. Bickerdyke wrote to her brother detailing the events.

District court to close in Osrisband with major case verdict

In Osrisband New Mexico Judge John T. McClure presiding, the district court will end this week. Earlier this week several cases were disposed of including the murder case of Candelario Ramon near Loving. Clementes Cardenas pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 35 to 40 years in the state penitentiary.
