Silver City reports a remarkable discovery at the Daura mine Steeple Rock with a 12 foot wide uplifted ore shoot rich in argentite cerargyrite and pyrargyrite and high gold values. Two carloads mined, walls not yet reached, with up to 1500 gold and silver per ton in assays.
The War and Navy departments will cooperate to maintain wireless communication between Nome and St Michael and between Seattle and San Francisco. Next year the Army signal corps will establish a station at Port Gibbon in Alaska linked to a Navy station at Valdez. Navy stations already exist in Alaska with 17 foot steel towers planned for Pairbank and Circle to carry wireless telegraph instruments, 140 miles apart, ensuring regular interconnection.
