Digging into Jericho Unearths Rich Ancient Treasures

Prof Sellin reports excavations at Jericho reveal a monumental burnt-lime brick wall ten feet thick on a stone base and nearly 40 feet wide on the western side. Houses, lamps, and bronze tools emerge along with Hebrew inscriptions proving old Hebrew use, as over 100 workers dig at five sites. Prof Yellin plans winter work to deepen material for pre Israelite and Canaanite studies.

Gold output in Klondike falls to low level this year

The Denver Mining Reporter notes a $3 million gold yield in the Canadian Yukon low for 1906, driven by a dry summer that curtailed hydraulicking and placer work. Dredges and new hydraulic plants are planned, with 1,700 Guggenheim workers. Yukon river low water hindered Dawson steamers, foreshadowing winter provisions shortfall but not severe.

Doctors and Disease. No man fe a good physician wt has never been sick

An OCR fragment remarks that no man can be a good physician without having been ill. The wording is archaic and part of a broader aphorism about medical wisdom arising from personal illness. The piece offers a brief, quotable thought rather than a reported event.
