In early mining days at Foster's Bar a hidden gold dust sack leads to a saloon spree when a rightful owner is found. A compiled 19th century list details large gold nuggets in California from Tuolumne, Sierra, El Dorado, and surrounding counties. Notable finds include 133 pounds from J county melted to yield 17044 dollars, 54 pound nugget on Feather River, and 106 pounds two ounces at Rattlesnake Creek. A Frenchman found a near pure nugget worth over 5000, later driven insane and interned. nugget sent to the French consul in San Francisco.
Mrs Corbett denies danger to her husband the heavyweight champion insisting the gossip is sensationalism. She recalls past harassment by an obsessed admirer and says Corbett will travel east soon and remains untroubled by the reports.
