The Madrid murder case stands as the most important trial this term after Manuel Madrid died March 30 from poison. Dr. Given alerted District Attorney Wolford, a coroner's inquest led to three suspects Valentina Madrid Alma Lyons and Francisco Baca all jailed. Mrs Madrid allegedly gave Ballards Rat Poison to her husband via coffee and Lyons admitted purchasing the poison.
