Road link urged to connect Hillsboro Mimbres Valley and Silver City
HF Stillwell reports widespread support in the Mimbres area for a new automobile link from Hillsboro and Lake Valley through Mimbres Valley to Silver City via Santa Rita. An existing wagon road could be improved with about $300 of work, or a mining company road could be reused. Elephant Butte dam will draw tourists, making a direct, well built route attractive for future travel and local recreation, especially from Silver City residents owning cars.
