Warden Exonerated In New Mexico Penitentiary Probe

The New Mexico penitentiary board exonerates Warden John B. McManus and the prison matron after investigating Henry Lyons complaints. Alma Lyons appears pregnant from illicit intercourse with Juan Trujillo, aide to the superintendent, while Lugo guard negligence is cited. Officials deny mismanagement charges. report signed January 23, 1914, by Miguel A. Otero and Charles Easeley. It costs 1800 daily to feed Mexican prisoners at Fort Elisa.
