Carpenter District Mine Growth Attracts Investors

Friday August 1906 reports say Monarch Mining and Development has taken a ninety day bond on the Swartz Spates group of seventeen claims in Carpenter mining district Grant county across the Black Range from Kingston. The company plans $2,509 in immediate development and to begin systematic work with a force of men. The Swarts Spites properties lie near the Grandview group owned by O. T. Barr and others. Completion of a deal on Grandview could bring three strong companies into operation, potentially making Carpenter a permanent mining camp by next year. The price to be paid for Swartz Spates properties is $25,000 cash or bond expiration.
