England’s latest copper purchase from U S producers exceeds 54 million dollars and 100000 tons, the biggest single red metal deal in U S history. A repeat order follows last autumn’s 60000 ton shipment at 27 cents a pound, while some mines move to spot sales as 1916 output nears peak.
