Eastern Idaho Baptists Meet in Shoshone Assembly
The Eastern Idaho Baptist association held a three day meeting in Shoshone with about 75 delegates and visitors from Picabo Island Hagerman Hailey and Pocatello. Notable speakers included Rev H Van Engelen Rev L L Kneeland Rev Remington and Dr C Wooddy. Plans for expanding work in South Idaho and large offerings for mission boards highlighted the gathering.

Bruneau Syndicate Plans Big Irrigation and Transit Project
J E Lane returns to Bruneau as a syndicate outlines irrigation of about 30000 acres under the Garey Act. Preliminary surveys done, state permit to take Bruneau River water, reservoirs to aid irrigation, a Bruneau boat line, electric road, and a local bank and mercantile company planned with eastern capital backing. Project aims for early construction and first operations by 1904. Local men including Guy C Barnum join Lane as investors.

News later reports Mrs J W Emerson shot at her Milner home, injury not life threatening, with Drs Steely and Castle en route. Mrs Emerson expected to move to safety within a week.

Infant Merle Augusta Swope Dies at Two Months
Merle Augusta, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Swope, died Monday after a brief illness since birth on July 6. Funeral held Wednesday at Joseph Parry's home with rites of the Mormon church conducted by Joseph Parry of Ogden. Swope family and K P lodge members attended. community offers sympathy.
